Left State for Washington, D.C. and assigned to duty as garrison at Forts Simmons, Bayard, Mansfield, Gaines and Battery Vermont, Defenses of Washington. Attached to 2nd Brigade, Haskins' Division, 22nd Army Corps.

Moved to Sandy Hook, Md. and duty in the Defenses of Maryland Heights .

Attached to Reserve Division, Dept. of West Virginia for operations in the Shenandoah Valley.
