Charles Christman

Union officer

Charles H. Christman was born in 1832 in Philadelphia, and was a merchant there before the war.

On June 1, 1861 he became captain of Company B, 2nd Delaware Infantry Regiment. He took command of the regiment at Gettysburg when Col. William Baily was wounded on July 3rd, and mustered out with the rest of the regiment on July 1, 1864.

Christman died on Nov. 8, 1886 in New York City.
